New edition of the dynamic book first published in 1983; the only book to be published by a U.S. President while in office. Contributions from Wanda Franz, Ph.D., Pres. of the National Right to Life; Brian P. Johnston, CA. Comm. on Aging and Western Regional Dir. of the Nat. Right to Life; and the Hon. William Clark, Chief of Staff to then-Gov. Reagan, National Security Adviser to the President
“President Reagan’s record of public service reveals that no moral issue was of greater importance to him than the dignity and sanctity of human life. [He is] a champion of all that is right and true and just; a firm believer and practitioner of all that makes America great; an advocate of the good; a defender of the innocent, young and old alike.”
Hon. William P. Clark, who served as Chief of Staff to Governor Reagan, Justice of the California Supreme Court, Deputy Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, and Secretary of the Interior
“President Reagan understood that freedom and equality before the law are based on a more fundamental principle: the intrinsic, God-given dignity and value of each human person ...The pro-life movement will always be indebted to President Ronald Reagan for his word and deed.”
Wanda Franz, PhD., President of the National Right to Life Committee
“Ronald Reagan stands amidst a pantheon of great and often misunderstood statesmen who asserted the deceivingly simple premise that the ‘right to life’ is the cornerstone of all sound government ... He understood what lies at the very heart of civilization; that it could be lost and that it must be defended.”
Brian Johnston, Western Regional Director of National Right to Life and California Commissioner on Aging

Buzz about Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation:
By southernbellefox (United States) Former President Reagan shares that the implications of his signing the first abortion bill in the nation (California, supposedly only to save the life of the mother) were that the criteria would be manipulated and abused to begin the slippery slope leading to abortion on demand today. He regretted that he was an unsuspecting catalyst.
By Roger R (United States) Ronald Reagan's stark eloquence is unmatched. His willingness to unequivocally stand up for what he believes is morally right on a controversial issue - while still in his first term no less - is not only admirable, but unfortunately, rather unique in comparison to most current politicians. While this book certainly offers an impassioned defense of the sanctity of human life, it does not appeal to emotion, slogans or slick rhetoric. It simply appeals to logic, common sense and morality. An excellent defense of the pro-life ethic.
By Mike (United States) What can I say that our greatest 20th century President didn't. This book is so well written and should required reading for everyone. Abortion is a world-wide travesty that must be ended soon. |
